Our Story
I’ve been training dogs since childhood—starting with my own family dogs and training ponies and horses growing up. After 10 years working in human services, I turned my lifelong passion for animal behaviour into a full-time career working with dogs.

Cognitive Canine began when I adopted Maggie, my rescue dog with fear aggression. Using force-free methods, play, and confidence-building techniques, I helped her overcome her fears—giving me first-hand experience in behaviour change. My own English Staffy, Rafi, is dog-reactive, so I understand exactly what it’s like to live with strong, energetic breeds that need more than a basic walk.

For the past six years I’ve worked full-time with dogs—gaining hands-on experience in behaviour, body language, and handling a wide range of temperaments and needs. I’m currently completing my Level 4 Advanced Canine Behaviour Diploma (PETbc Accredited via the British College of Canine Studies) and CBATI-KA certification (Certified Behaviour Adjustment Training Instructor with Grisha Stewart), along with ongoing professional development to keep my knowledge current and evidence-based.

My Walk & Train sessions focus on building real-life skills—like loose lead walking, focus, recall and confidence—through fun, play, and positive reinforcement, designed especially for Staffies and other high-energy breeds.
